Steelwarehouse 1st annual tournament

18 December 2018

After a very successful year of 5 a side and 7 a side football there was one thing left on the Forza Bhora calendar, the Steelwarehouse 5 a side tournament!

20 teams split into 4 groups of 5, 48 matches to be played in just 6 hours, this made quick fire games were very hard to turn away from. With only 7 minutes per game taking your chances was very important. The group stages went by very fast, though they had the bulk of the games that had to be played.

Moving into the Quarter Finals the game time was extended (but not by much), teams now had 10 minutes to make the difference. If games ended goalless, teams would move straight into a penalty shoot out. Despite not making it to the Quarter Finals most of the teams that were knocked out stuck around to watch the games, with food and drinks being provided by the hosts Steelwarehouse.

The Semi-finals were next. Four strong teams set themselves apart from the rest, with the game time being extended again to 15 minutes per game. Condev Force vs Halsteds Kings and Eezy pool vs Building Center. Both games were very close with the winning teams both winning by a single goal, Condev Force won 2-1 and Building Center won 3-2.

So came the final with the two strongest teams going head to head. For the Finals the time was further extended, the teams would now play two 15 minute halves. Despite the game being built up to be a very tight affair, Building Center made light work of the opposition winning the game comfortably 3-0.

Top goalscorer Prosper helped his team with important goals leading to the final, he finished with 13 goals to his name, winning him the gold boot as well as player of the tournament.

We would like to say thank you to all the players and teams that came to participate in this tournament, with out you this would not have been possible.

To the hosts Steelwarehouse we hope to have many more of these in the future years and we thank you greatly for making something as exciting and interesting to watch possible. History was made, and we look forward to seeing how you improve and make this tournament even better next year.
